Haunted Creek Railway:
The Haunted Creek Railway is our Halloween themed G Scale train layout. It features trains made by the EP Lehmann Company of Germany known as LGB Trains. LGB Trains are G Scale roughly twice the size of an equivalent Lionel O gauge train. Despite their large size, our Haunted Creek Railway packs a lot into an area of about 4 and ½ by 5 and ½ feet. Included are a loop of track, woods, a tunnel, a hunted house on the hill above the tunnel, two homes, a pumpkin stand, and an abandoned church complete with cemetery! The town features working street lights and lighted buildings and Halloween decorations and is populated by trick or treaters! The overall theme is one of a small town enjoying an annual Halloween celebration.
The Haunted Creek was first added to our family Halloween display in 2003 and became an immediate hit! As part of our indoor display, it was placed so as to be readily seen by our own neighborhood trick or treaters when they came into the entrance of our home to claim their candy. The Haunted Creek Railway was the cover article of the Fall 2003 LGB Telegram magazine and was featured in a follow up article in the Fall of 2004. In 2006 the railway was the subject of an article in the LGB Depesche.
*Currently The Haunted Creek Railway is in storage but, it may return again one day.*
